A growing global specialist insurer is investing in modern data and analytics capabilities. A key milestone in this journey has been the approval of a new Data Strategy, Target Operating Model, and Roadmap. As part of this transformation, a Group Data Function has been established to implement the strategy and enhance data and analytics capabilities across various business functions, including Underwriting, Claims, and Marketing.
This role sits within the Group Functions Data Hub and is dedicated to supporting the Underwriting function. The Data Product Owner will be responsible for translating high-level data strategy into a product backlog, working closely with delivery teams to ensure data solutions align with business needs.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and maintain a compelling data product roadmap that aligns with business objectives.
- Create, refine, and prioritise the product backlog, ensuring it delivers measurable value.
- Act as the primary contact between business stakeholders and data teams, facilitating clear communication.
- Drive the adoption of new technologies, tools, and analytics approaches to enable transformational change.
- Regularly review and enhance data products based on user feedback and evolving business needs.
- Ensure data products align with internal governance policies and regulatory requirements.
- Focus on improving data visualisation and accessibility for stakeholders.
- Promote data literacy and provide training to business users.
- Ensure responsible and ethical use of data.
Technical Expertise:
- Knowledge of data architecture, data modelling, and enterprise data concepts.
- Ability to interpret data insights and translate them into business strategies.
- Experience with data governance frameworks and quality management practices.
- Familiarity with machine learning and AI technologies.
- Ability to align data initiatives with business goals and market trends
- Strong problem-solving capabilities with a focus on delivering business value.
- Experience in managing complex data projects.
- Understanding of data best practices in the insurance sector.
